The Blog on Main Event and Smackdown

December 16, 2014. A date that I'll never forget. Yours truly attends his first WWE event, ever.
2 months ago, I heard the news that Smackdown was coming to Grand Rapids (Van Andel Arena) and my eyes just lit up. I set the reminder on the WWE App about the news and broke it to my family. When the tickets were released, I jumped at the chance to get tickets and I got them. 1 ticket for myself and 1 ticket for my Uncle TJ, since he was my ride there. Section 123, Row B, Seats 25 and 26. Some may have seen the photos I've posted on Twitter, my personal Facebook account, and the channel's Facebook page (and Instagram).
Just seeing the stage, before the videos even started playing before the show, gave me goosebumps. After finding our seats, my uncle TJ and I went around a bit and I ended up getting both a Sting mask and a Dean Ambrose Unstable shirt from the concession stand. Got to our seats in time before the 6:45 pm deadline for the live edition of Main Event, with Eden announcing the shows (she looked great in the red dress).
Michael Cole came out to his own music and titantron, with myself and others booing him as he came to the announce table with Byron Saxton. Sin Cara (Hunico) beat Curtis Axel in the dark match, nice action. The boom from his entrance was damn loud, so it kept me awake. Main Event went on the air with MizTV and I knew it was going to be a good show. New Day got a surprisingly good response from the crowd against Cesaro and Tyson Kidd, despite their reaction the night before on Raw (I was marking out for Cesaro and seeing Natalya for looking great in her black dress).
EVERYONE was cheering Paige in her match against Emma, including myself while taking a LOT of pictures of Paige. The spank Emma did on Paige at the start of the match left a red mark on Paige's ass. The main event was good, Kane vs. Erick Rowan. Crowd was more alive for Erick Rowan on Main Event than Smackdown, since we already got our reaction out of us the first time around for him.
Smackdown then aired with the LOUD AS HELL pyro, left a hazy look to the arena with Rosa Mendes and Fandango already in the ring. We cheered JBL as he entered. Everyone marked out when Roman Reigns was both announced to return last night during the graphic shown on Main Event and during his entrance. He was only 1 aisleway away from my section, which was very cool. 6-man tag (The Usos & Erick Rowan vs. The Miz, Damien Mizdow, & Luke Harper) was very well done. Everyone, including my Uncle TJ, were cracking up big time with Damien Mizdow's performance with his stunt double work (especially when The Miz was thrown out of the ring and Mizdow got in the ring to launch himself out). An ok Divas Title match (Nikki vs. Naomi) went down, I don't think Naomi is really over with us.
Ryback vs. Seth Rollins didn't happen due to Rusev attacking Ryback during his entrance, which I'm fine with. Dolph Ziggler stops Seth Rollins from taking a night off, to get a match between them. Their match was great, everyone loved this match. I marked out when Dolph did his running Avalanche Sitout Facebuster, only for Seth to kickout. Good finish with J & J Security being ejected from ringside, causing Rollins to be distracted long enough for Ziggler to get the Zig Zag for the win. Someone got their sign confiscated within the last couple minutes of the show, don't know what the sign said. Earlier in the show, Dean had his promo with Bray Wyatt and Dean said he wasn't leaving until he had a fight with Bray Wyatt in Grand Rapids (which he said during the commercial for the crowd). A kid used his Nintendo 3DS as a flashlight instead of a phone during Bray's entrance for the post-Smackdown dark match.
Dark match of Smackdown saw Dean Ambrose beat Bray Wyatt via DQ when Bray used a Singapore Cane on Dean. Bray beat Dean down with the cane until Dean got it and wailed Bray with it, with Dean getting on the top turnbuckle and aiming the cane like a sniper rifle before jumping and hitting Bray with it. Bray retreated, Dean high-fived the fans along ringside (up to the stage area), and signed a fan's sign (lucky). That night was just magical for me, a night I'll never forget.
Below are 5 photos (that I took screenshots of from the show after finding them on YouTube) of yours truly being shown at the show. Some are hard to see, so I circled exactly where I was. The one in the start of the show is pretty noticable.
